Cleveland Hill’s softball team finally had the opportunity to play at home for the first time in three weeks Thursday, much to the chagrin of crosstown rival JFK.

Cheektowaga’s boys track team made its desire to win clear from the get-go against Starpoint May 8, as the Warriors stunned the Spartans by winning the 4x800-meter relay in a school record 8:27.6 to set the tone in what would be a 95½-45½ victory that clinched Cheektowaga’s first-ever ECIC Division III championship.

Maryvale softball comes up short against Amherst

Mindy Odrobina delivered a 10 strikeout performance and only allowed three hits in five innings of work Monday, but the Lady Flyers were unable to knock off league opponent Amherst, falling by a 5-4 margin.

Caryn Duman finished the pitching duties in the sixth inning for Maryvale, striking out two Amherst batters.
