Eagle cagers cruise to 27-point win over Alden

Cleveland Hill’s boys basketball team used solid team defense in the second half of its contest against Alden Friday to easily knock off the Bulldogs, 56-29, to improve to 10-2 overall.

The Eagles limited Alden to just six points over the final 16 minutes to help season the lopsided decision, while senior Miles Barker led all scorers with 16 points and ran the Eagle offense with confidence. Rayshaun Smalls had hit three shots from behind the arc and finished the game with 11 points, while Daryl Spencer added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

DeVonte Davis contributed six points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Also adding to the Eagles’ offense were Jared Watkins with seven, Brandon Wesley with three points and four blocks, and Richard Sotero with three points.

The Eagles (6-1 division) return to the hardwood Tuesday when it hosts Lackawanna.
