The Cheektowaga Chargers U13 travel soccer team recently opened its season with a 9-3 win over the Boys Blue team. Brandon Margeson led the way for the victors with three goals, while Anthony Roncone and Cam Ciesielski each added two goals. Justin Brown and Chris Lonczak both added single tallies, while the defensive efforts of Matt Margeson, Jaime Ciesielski, Art Jordan, Will Borchert and Zack Amato helped Bo Stroud record the win in net.

The WNY Sting 10U improved to 3-0 after a 15-3 victory over the Cheektowaga Crabapples Saturday in the Sahlen’s Sports Park 2012 Winter Softball League. The Sting was led by pitcher Loren Castilloux (Orchard Park), who held the Crabapples to one hit and one earned run. At the plate, Castilloux had three RBIs, while Torrie Jenkins (Cheektowaga) doubled in two additional runs.
