The two men believed to be responsible for the murder of a Cheektowaga man in his West Grand Boulevard home have been indicted by a grand jury.

On Tuesday, Edward D. McCloud, 41, of Buffalo was indicted on three counts of second-degree murder, first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery. He is accused in the Nov. 12 murder of Armod Law.

The other suspect in the case, Rocky Jones III, 27, of Buffalo was arrested and arraigned in December. He faces the same charges.

Both men face a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison if convicted and are being held without bail in the Erie County Holding Center.

Police actually arrested McCloud on the same day as Jones but for a separate charge. According to Cheektowaga police Capt. James Speyer, McCloud was caught driving a stolen car and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

“He was a suspect all along,” Speyer said.

McCloud has been in the Holding Center since his arrest on the stolen car charge but was arraigned Tuesday on the murder and burglary charges.

According to police, McCloud and Jones entered Law’s house on West Grand Boulevard in the early morning hours of Nov. 12. Police said they stole some property and killed Law.

Neighbors reported hearing shots fired around 2:15 a.m. Law was found in his home, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Two other people in the house that night were unharmed.

At the time of the murder, police said Law may have been targeted.

Cheektowaga police are still not releasing details about what happened inside the home that night.
