Police investigating pair of robberies
Cheektowaga police are seeking more information on a pair of burglaries from this past weekend.
On Friday, a male robbed the Wilson Farms at 2761 Harlem Road. On Sunday, a pair of females robbed a male in his Idlebrook Drive home.
In the Wilson Farms robbery, police say a male walked into the store around 6:15 a.m., pointed a shotgun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk reportedly handed over an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
The suspect then stole two rolls of New York Lottery scratch-off tickets and fled on foot.
The clerk was unharmed.
Police reportedly found some of the money between the store and the laundromat next door and some more behind the building. A stolen lottery ticket was also found on Kaufman Road.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds.
In the second robbery, the victim had reportedly been chatting online with a woman and invited her back to his house for an “intimate evening.”
Once inside the apartment, the woman stated she had a gun and stole a PlayStation 3 video game console, a computer monitor and $570 in cash from the victim. The PlayStation is valued at $200. The computer monitor is valued at $100.
The suspect, described as a 25-year-old white female, had an accomplice, a 48-year-old white female.
No gun was displayed in the robbery.
The victim was unharmed.
Police said this is a common scam used by prostitutes.
Police continue to investigate both robberies and are asking anyone with information to call the Cheektowaga Detective Bureau at 686-3505.
