JFK boys bowling falls to Tonawanda
JFK’s boys bowling team lost to Tonawanda on January 18, 6-1.
The Warriors’ “C” team rolled a 903 set for the day’s top one-game honor, but coach Pete Odrobina was pleased that the Bears stole a point from the “A” team on the strength of Andy Brigman’s 234 and Zach Uzar’s 226. The “B” team was led by Justin Struzik’s 198 high game, while JFK’s “C” team was led by Theodore Young’s 210 high game.
“They just have too much firepower for us to compete against,” Odrobina said. “We’re finally done with all the teams above us in the standings. It would be nice if we can finish strong. We’re still missing the easy spares, and it’s frustrating seeing it happen in just about every match we lose. We just need to stay focused, take our time and adjust a board — if we leave any one of those components out, we’ll keep having the inconsistency that we’ve been struggling with all year.”
JFK returned to action Wednesday against Holland, but information about the Bears’ regular-sea- son finale was not available at press time.
