Knights of Columbus holding soup sale
A soup and sweet sale will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at the Knights of Columbus Father Justin Hall, 2735 Union Road, Cheektowaga. The event will feature homemade soups, including Czarnina, and baked goods.
Softball registration opens this week
The Town of Cheektowaga will open registration for the adult softball league next week at the Alexander Community Center, 275 Alexander Ave., Cheektowaga. Leagues are slow pitched unless otherwise specified. Spots in our leagues go fast and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Early bird registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Open registration will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 through Friday, Feb. 10. Team manager information will be available at registration or online at www.tocny.org. A $100, non refundable deposit is necessary for all teams wishing to register. Storytime sessions slated for children
The Anna M. Reinstein Memorial Library, 2580 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga, will be offering preschool storytime for children ages 3-5 at 6:30 p.m. Mondays from Feb. 6 to March 12. Physical therapy seminar addresses chronic pain
Physical therapist Sam Iraci and pain specialist Lou Banas will sponsor a free seminar on how cold laser is the new solution for chronic pain at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga. They will discuss how this new technology successfully treats arthritis ,migraine, sinusitis and many other pain symptoms.

Safe driving course scheduled at Days Inn
A New York State certified safe driving course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Days Inn, 4345 Genesee St., Cheektowaga. The six-hour course will allow each participant to receive 10 percent off collision and liability auto insurance fro three consecutive years. the course will also remove up to four points from a New York State driver’s license. Safe boating class to be held at St. Patrick’s
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33-Buffalo will present its first safe boating class of 2012 from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church Hall, 1395 George Urban Blvd., Cheektowaga. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The cost is $40 per person including the book, or $20 per person sharing a book. Grief Support Group holding meeting

Violinist to appear with orchestra

Open house planned at Catholic school
Mary Queen of Angels School will hold its annual open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the school, 170 Rosewood Terrace, Cheektowaga. There will be private tours of the school, which will provide guests an opportunity to visit the science lab, computer lab, music and art rooms, see SMART Board demonstrations, student projects and much more.
