Violinist to appear with orchestra

J-FIRE celebrating 20th anniversary
J-FIRE of Western New York will host a benefit party to celebrate it’s 20th anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Joseph’s Country Manor, 275 Columbia Ave., Depew. Tickets cost $10 each for a night of entertainment with Terry Buchwald. There will be a cash bar and food for purchase by Joseph’s Catering including pizza, roast beef sandwiches and snack platters. Open house planned at Catholic school
Mary Queen of Angels School will hold its annual open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the school, 170 Rosewood Terrace, Cheektowaga. There will be private tours of the school, which will provide guests an opportunity to visit the science lab, computer lab, music and art rooms, see SMART Board demonstrations, student projects and much more. Refreshments will be served. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet students, teachers and the school’s principal, MaryAlice Bagwell.
Library holding nature storytime
This March, the Julia Boyer Reinstein Memorial Library, 1030 Losson Road, Cheektowaga, will be hosting a three-session pre-school class presented by Reinstein Woods. The theme will be a “Nature Storyhour” and will involve nature stories, an activity and a craft. The class is for children ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten.
