Country singer wins category in music competition
The country singer was nominated for Clays Country Music Awards in the “Best Female Artist” category. The competition was sponsored by Clays Country Radio, an international station based in Ireland.
After three months of voting, Barrett won “Best Female Artist.”
“I feel honored to be voted the 2013 Best Female Artist for an international competition. The Clays Country Music Awards was all fan-based voting, so this award belongs to the fans,” she said. “I am deeply touched by their support. They stood at my side and encouraged me every step of the way.”
This is the second time Barrett has won a category for the Clays Country Music Awards competition. Her song “When You Look At Me” won the “Best Original Song” in the contest two years ago.
Barrett plans to record a second album in the future. She’s also recently recorded a song written by JD Cole called “I’m Just Lucky I Guess.”
Currently, Barrett works as a prevention specialist at the Genesee Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
