Family Promise of WNY to host Choctober Fest
Family Promise of Western New York, a nonprofit agency serving homeless children and families, is hosting a fundraiser that will give residents a chance to try some sweet treats and give back to the community.
The agency’s Choctober Fest will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at Family Promise, 149 French Road, Cheektowaga.
Friday’s event will feature the VIP Launch Night from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will include wine, cheese and chocolate. Tickets are available for $25 per person or $40 per couple.
Saturday’s event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. and is free of charge. There will be raffle baskets, a cooking demonstration by Jude Laine’s Catering and a bake sale. Raffle items include gift cards for Paula’s Donuts, a gift basket from Park Edge Sweet Shoppe and dessert-for-two from Alethea’s Chocolates.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the financial needs of the shelter program and help homeless children and families directly.
Family Promise has 500 community volunteers and works with congregations throughout Erie County to provide shelter, meals and support for homeless families. Family Promise assists these families in finding homes, jobs and other services.
