Town Clerk to host Passport Day

The Cheektowaga Town Clerk’s office will hold Passport Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Town Hall, 3301 Broadway. Passport photos will be two for $10. For passport information, fees and forms, visit travel.state.gov or call 686-3983 or 686-7431.

Military hiring fair planned at KoC

Hiring Our Heroes will host a military career event and hiring fair from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Knights of Columbus Father Justin Council No. 5670, 2735 Union Road, Cheektowaga. For information, visit www.hiringourheroes.org.

Summer camp registration open

Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School will host its Anything-but-Ordinary Summer Timon Camp July 10–21 for boys entering grades five through eight. Campers can attend one week for $100 or both for $175. A $40 down payment is required at registration, from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 24, and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Timon. Registration forms can be found at www.bishop timon.com/SummerTimon. Historical association announces speaker

The May meeting of the Cheektowaga Historical Association will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Cheektowaga Senior Center, 3349 Broadway. The guest speaker will be Judi Greer presenting “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” The event is free, and light refreshments will be served.

Church to hold chicken barbecue

Maryvale Drive Presbyterian Church will host a chicken barbecue and basket raffle from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the church, 425 Maryvale Drive, off Harlem Road. Eat-in and drive-thru dinners are available. Tickets are $10.

Memorial Day ceremony planned

The Town of Cheektowaga will hold its annual Memorial Day service at 1 p.m. Monday, May 29, at the Veterans Monument in Town Park. The event is sponsored by the Veterans Affairs Committee and Councilman James P. Rogowski.

Legion post to honor outgoing commander

F.J. Donovan American Legion Post 1626 in Cheektowaga will host a welcome home testimonial dinner to honor Erie County Commander Nelson Oldfield. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 20, with a cash bar cocktail hour, with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Dinner will cost $25. Empire State College to host info sessions

Empire State College will hold public information sessions about associate and bachelor’s degree programs at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Niagara Frontier Center, Appletree Business Park, 2875 Union Road. For information, call 686-7850.

SAT and ACT prep offered at Maryvale

All-Pro Tutoring and Test Preparation will offer simulated SAT and ACT exams for students preparing for the tests at Maryvale’s Robert A. Binner Educational Center, 1050 Maryvale Drive. The tests are open to all high school students, and each participating student will receive a free, individualized score report to help prepare for the actual test. Walk-ins will not be seated.
