Internet safety forum to be held at JFK High School

The Cheektowaga-Sloan School District, Council Member Alice Magierski and the Cheektowaga Police Community Crime Prevention Office will hold an Internet/ Cyberspace and Safety Awareness Forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at John F. Kennedy High School, 305 Cayuga Creek Road.

The forum is the next in a series of informational forums hosted in Cheektowaga’s school districts. Cheektowaga Detective Michael Hockwater will share information on how children can stay safe in today’s social media influenced environment and how parents can learn about various social media sites frequented by children.

As an additional service, members of the various Town of Cheektowaga departments will be in attendance to answer questions and offer information on the services they provide.
