Church to host ‘Head to Toe’ clothing event

New Creation Fellowship will hold the “Head to Toe” clothing sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the church, 3325 Genesee St. The sale will include thousands of clothing items including coats, sweaters, polos, tees, suits, men’s cargo shorts, dresses and more that have been donated in new or nearly new condition. The proceeds will benefit the children of New Creation Fellowship Academy.

College fair planned for Buffalo

The 14th annual Buffalo National College Fair, sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8:30 p.m Wednesday, March 21, and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 22, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin St. The event attracts representatives from more than 200 colleges and universities. The fair is free, and students are encouraged to preregister by visiting www.buffalocollegefair.com.

Val’s 29th Dyngus Day weekend set

Celebrate Dyngus Day weekend at Salvatore’s Hospitality, 6461 Transit Road in Depew starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 1. Activities continue at 4 p.m. Monday, April 2. There will be polka music performed by The Boys From Baltimore, The DynaBrass, The Polka Country Musicians and the Polish Heritage Dancers, as well as country music via Dark Horse Run and rock music with Flipside. Polka lessons offered before Dyngus Day

The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association Branches 630 and 534 are sponsoring polka dancing lessons from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 and 21, at St. Casimir Social Center, 1833 Clinton St., Buffalo. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 with a partner or $10 single, for each class. Sign up for all three sessions with a partner for $40 or as a single for $25. Space is limited, so call 983-5084 or 480-4370 to reserve a spot. Proceeds will support parish youth group retreats.

Fishing group to hold fly tying course

The Lake Erie Chapter of Fly Fishers International will conduct a four-week fly-tying course on Saturdays through March 10, at Reinstein Woods Environmental Education Center, 93 Honorine Drive, Depew. Classes run from 1 to 4:15 p.m. Visit www.lake-erie-fff.org to download an application. The cost is $30, and the class size is limited.

Cleve Hill PTSA plans theme tray auction

The Cleveland Hill PTSA will hold a theme tray raffle at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the school, 105 Mapleview Road. Tickets are $5 per sheet or $20 for five sheets. Tickets for 50/50 and door prizes are one for $1, three for $2 and five for $10. The event includes more than 100 baskets, door prize, a 50/50 raffle and refreshments.

VFW is planning corned beef dinners

Pvt. Leonard Post Jr. VFW Post No. 6251 will serve sit-down corned beef dinners from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, and from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the post, 2450 Walden Ave. Dinners cost $12.95 and include corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, carrots, rolls, coffee and tea. Diners must make reservations. Call 684-4371 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Reservations will be accepted until Thursday, March 15.

Grief support group to meet monthly

The Grief Recovery After Substance Passing peer support group, for loved ones of those who have died due to addiction or overdose, will meet at 2:30 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Drive. Call Maureen at 903-3247 or email mmhoconnor@aol.com for details.
