Giveaways to celebrate Go-kart Day

Go-Kart Day is Friday, Sept. 14, and RPM Raceway, located in the Walden Galleria Mall, will be celebrating the occasion.

The first 25 people who register to race from noon to 6 p.m. will receive a free race, and those who register after those individuals will receive a 50 percent discount on one race.

Those latter individuals will also have the opportunity to be randomly selected to receive RPM Raceway-branded material.

The giveaways are in recognition of the anniversary of the first ever public go-kart appearance in 1956.

“We are excited to declare Go-Kart Day to support both technological developments and to foster our love for karting,” said Karen Davis-Farage, president and co-owner of RPM Raceway. “Since this under-the-radar milestone played a role in the innovative thinking needed to develop the high-performance go-karts at RPM Raceway, we thought it was fitting to celebrate with free and discounted races and to encourage racing lovers’ interest in go-karts and karting advancements.”

The first ever public go-kart appearance was led by Art Ingles, known in the industry as the “Father of Karting.”
