Conference to focus on family engagement

Every Person Influences Children and the Parent Network of WNY will hold the second annual WNY Family Engagement Conference on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Grapevine Banquets, 333 Dick Road. This conference will support those who strive for excellence in family-school community partnerships. Tickets are $100 for preregistration, including morning and afternoon snacks and lunch. Cheektowaga Chorale seeks singers

The Cheektowaga Chorale will hold open auditions throughout September. All types of voices are welcome. Bass and tenor voices are particularly needed, and participants need not be residents of Cheektowaga. The upcoming concert will take place on Friday, Dec. 7. Rehearsals will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Cleveland Heights Christian Church, 4774 Union Road. German heritage to be celebrated

The Sisters of St. Joseph will celebrate the German heritage of Clarence from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. The Oktoberfest will feature the music of The Auslanders, German food, dancing and raffles. Funds raised at the event will benefit the ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph, as well as the food pantries of Clarence Presbyterian Church and St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish.
