Symposium slated by Junior League

The Junior League of Buffalo will host a community-wide symposium on adverse childhood experiences at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd. The program is targeted for parents, caregivers, educators, health professionals, community leaders, faith leaders and community members. Tickets are available in advance for $20 on the league’s website at www.jlbuffalo.org. Admission includes a continental breakfast. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., and the event will end at 11 a.m.

Art Guild seeks new members

The Cheektowaga Art Guild is looking for residents who enjoy the arts to join the organization. Meetings take place at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Kenneth J. Meyers Town of Cheektowaga Recreation Center, 2600 Harlem Road. Meetings are upstairs. Visit www.cheektowagaartguild.com for more information.

Polish Genealogical Society to meet

The Polish Genealogical Society of New York State will hold its monthly meeting to celebrate its 30th anniversary from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in the Villa Maria College cafeteria, 240 Pine Ridge Road, Cheektowaga. The meeting is free and will include a research workshop and assistance.

Hockey team to host meat raffle

The Cheektowaga Warriors Bantam Major travel hockey team will hold a meat raffle from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 4569 Broadway, Depew. Tickets are $6 presale or $8 at the door and include beer, wine and pop. Pizza will be available for purchase. JFK Craft Show seeks vendors

The annual John F. Kennedy High School Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday,Nov.17,attheschool, 305 Cayuga Creek Road. Admission to the event is $1. Table spaces for vendors are still available and can be reserved by contacting Casey Snyder at csnyder@csufsd.org.
